Creating a Weekly Hair Care Routine

Eche 2 min read

Simple weekly routines build healthy habits for growing crowns. Here's a flexible framework you can adapt to your family's schedule.

A Simple Weekly Hair Care Routine for Kids

A healthy hair routine doesn’t need to be complicated. The goal is simple: keep the hair moisturised, nourished and easy to manage while building habits that work for your family.

Here’s a flexible routine you can adapt to your child’s hair, hairstyle and lifestyle.

Monday — Refresh

Lightly mist the hair with water, then apply Leave-In Conditioner to replenish moisture and improve softness and manageability.

Follow with Hair Butter and Hair Oil to help seal in that moisture and keep the hair soft and nourished.

Wednesday — Mid-Week Moisture Boost

Give the hair a quick check and refresh as needed.

If it feels dry, repeat your moisture routine: water → Leave-In Conditioner → Hair Butter → Hair Oil.

Focus especially on the ends, which can become drier than the rest of the hair.

Friday — Scalp Care

Give the scalp some gentle attention with a light massage using Hair Oil.

There’s no need to completely redo the hair routine just for scalp care. Simply keep the scalp comfortable and nourished while maintaining the hair’s moisture throughout the week.

Wash Day — Every 1–2 Weeks

Wash day doesn’t have to happen every weekend. Depending on your child’s hair, scalp, hairstyle and lifestyle, every 1–2 weeks can be a manageable wash-day rhythm.

On wash day:

  • Gently cleanse the scalp and hair.
  • Deeply moisturise and detangle.
  • Apply Leave-In Conditioner to damp hair.
  • Follow with Hair Butter and Hair Oil to help lock in moisture.
  • Finish with a gentle, low-tension or protective style.

Not Sure Which Order to Apply Your Products?

The LOC and LCO methods can help you decide how to layer your products based on how your child’s hair responds to moisture.

We’ve created a separate guide explaining hair porosity, LOC and LCO to help you find the product order that works best for your child’s hair.

Final Thoughts

You don’t need a complicated routine to care for your child’s hair.

Water + Leave-In Conditioner + Hair Butter + Hair Oil can form a simple moisture routine that helps keep the hair soft, manageable and nourished between wash days.

The key is consistency. Find a routine that fits your family’s lifestyle, pay attention to your child’s hair and scalp, and keep those little crowns beautifully cared for.
